Work has begun on the preparation of the site for the construction of the new maternity ward. The first part of the work is the excavation of the site for the new kitchen and laundry.
Mike Ward has been in Rwanda for the last two weeks supervising the setting out for the new maternity building and the laundry and kitchen. The construction of the new kitchen is at roof hight and the laundry is also underway. A retaining wall is being built above the new laundry to support the upper bank where the laboratory is built.
The container has arrived at Kibogora and the contents checked and stored. The washing machines are unlikely to be installed until all the risks associated with the current pandemic are resolved.
