In January the Rwandan Ministry of Health donated 2 new ambulances to the hospital.
This is a great addition to both the maternity services and the rest of the hospital as the two ambulances the hospital had before were old and regularly needed repairs.
Only the national highway north/south along Kivu lake is paved, all the secondary roads are dirt or mud roads (depending on the time of year) so our ambulances really take a beating travelling bad roads day and night every day of the year.
